Hi, welcome to my blog!
My job is to help people who are hurting, and my passion is finding out why we hurt ourselves and how to stop it. (Currently my end goal is to put myself out of business. My master plan might need some work.)
I don’t know about you, but at least 50% of the pain I suffer could easily be avoided. All I need to do is eat right, go to sleep on time, not hunch over when using my smartphone, exercise every day….
The only two problems with this are:
How do I know what to do?
When I do know, how do I do it?
Do you know what ‘eat right’ actually means? how much sleep you really need? whether you should lift weights or run a marathon?
Do you manage to eat regular, balanced meals every day? go to bed on time? always hold your phone the right distance from your face?
So I study healthy living and self-care and see what works for me and my patients.
I learn how to motivate people (starting with myself) to do the things they know they should do, or even the things they want to do! Thus the list of personality attributes in the first paragraph.
As part of this project, I decided to start a blog. I hope to offer ideas for simple, easy and relevant changes you can make to improve your life, as well as to learn from your experiences.
