In the meantime, feel free to save this recipe for a homemade Chinese formula to treat the common cold:

Ingredients:
1 stick cinnamon
1-2 inches ginger root, sliced
4 dates
1 pinch dried licorice root (you can usually find it at your local health food store)
2 cups water

Put all the ingredients in a small pot, and bring to a boil.

Lower heat and cook over a small flame for 10 minutes.

Drain the liquid and drink it while hot.

Wrap yourself up in a blanket and rest for at least at hour (try not to skip this step).

Repeat as necessary.

The formula is most effective on the first day you start to feel sick, and works much better if you can stay warm and rest, letting your immune system use as much of the body's resources as possible.

The cinnamon and ginger are both immune strengtheners and have a warming effect on the body. The dates and licorice are rich in energy and help the body cope with the increased demands of the immune system on the body's energy bank during illness.
